Sadly, the fifth and final season of Fringe will be airing September 28, 2012 to February 1, 2013, but fans of the show obviously can re-watch all the episodes to their heart's desire! For people new to the show, do not fear- beginner's guide is here!!
What is Fringe?Edit
Fringe is a science fiction television series co-created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci. The series deals with a research scientist named Walter Bishop (described as "Frankenstein mixed with Albert Einstein"), his son Peter Bishop, and an FBI agent, Olivia Dunham who brings them back together.
The show follows the exploits of the trio as they investigate aspects of reanimation, teletransportation, etc. (aka some real crazy cool stuff) as the Fringe Division, a task force focused on fringe science and paranormal events. For example, one episode had a newborn baby who rapidly ages and dies within a few hours! There is also body possession in later episodes (I am telling you: CRAZY STUFF)!
Who are these characters?Edit
The main characters are again:
Not to ruin things, but crazy stuff goes down in the last 4 seasons! You learn an interesting fact about Olivia, stuff about Peter, parallel universes, alternate timelines, and even more! There is also a lot of stuff you see going on with the relationships between these three main characters (spoiler: Peter and Olivia get together)!
What's coming in the next season?Edit
The fifth and final season is supposed to take place in 2036 and beyond, following on events from the fourth season episode, Letters of Transit, and focusing on the Observer-controlled dystopian future. As shown in Letters of Transit, the Fringe team had purposely placed themselves in amber to avoid the Observer takeover, but now have been released to fight alongside other human resistance members, including Peter and Olivia's daughter, Henrietta Bishop.
Reasons to watch this showEdit
- The show is like a cross between The X-Files, the 1980s film Altered States, The Twilight Zone, and Dark Angel.
